Winter Clothing

Written on December 14th, 2012 by sassymomno shouts

First time I am here in the US and it’s winter, although there’s no snow in the places I have visited, it still is very cold! It’s fun to wear boots and jackets all day… one thing I cannot do when you live in a Tropical country.

Even in LA, California it becomes very cold at night especially when it’s raining. I wear socks even when I go to sleep.

I have shopped for winter clothing (that’s what I call them). Now they will have their own space in my closet since I won’t be able to use them. At least, I already have them. I shopped here instead of back home since I can look for bargain prices here. Next, I will have to buy my kids so that when we travel, they will also have their own winter clothing.

Hello Winter!

For the first time, I’ll be spending the cold months of November and December in the US. I am so looking forward to visiting family and friends. If there’s one thing, I would have to adjust will be the cold climate. I am now gearing up for the cold weather looking at patagonia womens jacket which I know would surely give me the comfort I need. I have invested in thermal wears since I do not want to experience the same coldness I felt when we were in Germany. It was March when we went there and I thought it wasn’t that cold but it was.

Well I guess, coming from a tropical country, I am not really used to the cold weather. Now, I have to be prepared. I wouldn’t let the cold weather spoil the fun I will have. Good thing there is no snow in California :-)

Enjoying Road Trips

Written on June 25th, 2011 by sassymomno shouts

When I was working, I used to hate road trips. Given the choice, I would prefer the locations that would travel by plane. I just feel that I am wasting so much time traveling, I’d rather do something else productive that just sitting down waiting for the vehicle to arrive at the destination.

However, that all changed when I left the corporate world. I began to enjoy every moment, not like I am running after a deadline all the time. Now, as long as I have left everything arranged for my business to run in my absence, I now savor the time I spent on the road especially with family and friends. It’s always fun to journey places, whether it’s an unfamiliar territory or a place you frequent to, always be armed with road and travel safety. Be attentive and watch out for areas offering roadside assistance.

Enjoy and have fun! …. Life is too short. We should work hard and enjoy the fruits of our labor while we can. Although, it’s also practical to keep on saving but what are we going to do with the money when were old — or worse sick?

Travel and Photography

ChurchTraveling, as I always say, is a very good learning experience. When traveling locally and especially in other countries, we meet a lot of different people and learn about different cultures. Of course, one thing that really gives me the thrill (aside from shopping) when traveling are the different places and sights that I can capture with my camera.

Having your own camera is the most important thing you should bring when traveling especially with the rise of social networking sites, you can now share your beautiful photos with your friends as if they were there traveling with you.

When traveling, if possible, dig a little something regarding the country’s history, this will give you a better understanding of their culture and traditions. Hubby who is my best travel buddy, who is an architect makes me appreciate architecture, historical landmarks and even modern skycrapers. He taught me to recognize the value of good architecture … seeing not only plain building be it metal buildings, old churches or modern structures. Then it’s up to me to translate it to magnificent photographs.

For me travel and photography comes together, it is one way of freezing your memories. It let’s you live the experience whenever you want to.
